Seen at Star Wars Day Jakarta last weekend was a suitably impressive slice of technology on display, with the showcasing of two multimedia aspects in the main lobby of the event space, starting with the above Battle Multimedia Diorama using Projection Mapping whereby moving visuals of war and explosions were projected unto a three-dimensional toy vehicle attached to a stand-up canvas, result shown in the video above (attached still image up top swiped from @NMworld).
Another interesting station was the HOLOPOD display (as modeled by full time architect and part time visual media enthusiast Tanti Sofyan), showcasing hologram projects of "3D Vehicles" in the Star Wars-lore. I apologize for the lackluster video-recording capabilities of my digi-cam tho …
Made by Designed Film (www.sembilanmatahari.co), these were interesting and refreshing ways to look at the Star Wars movies, and it would be interesting indeed if one day we could see a "Princess Leia" holographic "projection" out of R2D2, like the scene in "A New Hope" (a couple of scenes actually)!
