Lee Byung-hun & Clark Gregg Meet Their Own 1/6 Versions from Hot Toys

I've always wondered, when toy-makers gift their toy-adaptation of their product to the original actor playing the character in which the toy is made, based on the movie, how particularly horrifying it would have been, if the sculpted likeness of said actor on the toy-figurine, was horrible?



Now imagine if the figure you held in your hands, was made by Hot Toys instead, and your likeness was generously sculpted so much with accurate to your own likeness, that you hold in your hand a virtual mini-me voodoo-doll that someone could worship, feel-up, or undress, in the comforts of their own homes?

Awesome feeling either way, I think! … as South Korean actor Lee Byung-hun (above) who plays "Storm Shadow" in "G.I.Joe Retaliation, and American actor Clark Gregg (below) who plays "Agent Phil Coulson" in "The Avengers" (and the upcoming TV Series "Agents of S.H.I E.L.D.) can plainly witness, and we could see the utter "joy" in their eyes!

SDCC-Exclusive 1/6 Medic Zomb from 3A Toys

With 6 weeks more till San Diego ComicCon - affectionately also known as "SDCC" - 3A Toys begins revealing their exclusives, starting with MEDIC ZOMB. This 1/6th-scaled articulated figure is featured wearing weathered white overalls, combat pouches, helmet and boots, carries a rifle, with a pair of "new gun holding hands". No price is revealed for this piece tho.

Now that we've seen the figure, scoring one, would be another story:

Wow. Hot Toys is about to bust your toy-world with not one or two, but THREE 1/6th-scaled offerings from the classic RoboCop line! The RoboCop: 1/6th scale RoboCop Collectible Figure, 1/6th scale RoboCop Collectible Figure with Mechanical Chair, and RoboCop: 1/6th scale ED-209 Collectible!

Dead Astronaut Gangsta Revealed by 3A Toys

Revealed on their production blog at two editions of DEAD ASTROUNAUT GANGSTA from 3A Toys - in Dark and Light. To be released under their "Adventure Kartel" line, I like it that the astro helmet of skull-face seems to be (able to be) lit up from within (which might well make it a pricey piece, maybe?). Stay tuned for further product and availability details.

The Coming of Floating Bull #07 from Double Fools (June 1st pre-order)

There's a "Secret Boy Band in the Universe", and Double Line is going to release one of it's members for pre-orders starting June 1st @ 12am (Hong Kong time) via Double Fools, with Fools Paradise's Handmade 12 series #07 FLOATING BULL Limited to 50 pieces worldwide. Price to be determined. The other all-Red and Bunny-ear-helmeted EARTHMAN #06 was apparently the "opening act"!

I've posted a WIP of the removable helmet before (not knowing it was a helmet in the first place, I will not lie) and the "gold" treatment of the helmet and suit, was a welcomed surprise. I love it when "original" concepts get made, and Alan Ng (formerly of the now defunct Boredomsqueezer) has loads of originality in 1/6, which I adore, IMHO.

And yeh, the guy in the top pic does remind me of "Eddie Murphy" tho… juz saying'! LOL

Seen @ #SWDJKT 2013: Jabba's Palance & Ranchor Surprise

This toy-diorama on display at last weekend's Star Wars Day Jakarta showcased 1/6th-scaled figures depicting Jabba The Hutt's palace - as seen in "Return of the Jedi" - along with a seamless-joint Slave Leia, an extremely green Jabba, and a palace set up what would be splendid if there were a little more ambient light in the dio itself, IMHO.

And I nearly missed seeing the Ranchor peeking out from under the table ala the "dungeon" below the palace (Thanks to Pram for the pointer tho, I really would have missed it the first time around lol) … now of there was a partially chewed off Gamorrean guard in it's hands and mouth… LOL

It's funny. Just last week at Star Wars Day Jakarta a friend of a friend was looking for a 1:1 scaled Darth Vader, and I was asking whether it was a young Anarkin/Vader (tall and lean) or the older Vader (chubbier with balding head) … all the while thinking wouldn't it be nice to have a swell decent 1/6th-scaled version in the first place … then this popped into my radar!

G.I. Joe Retaliation's Roadblock in 1/6 by Hot Toys

First we had the splendid Snake-Eyes, then the spectacular Storm Shadow, now we have ROADBLOCK in 1/6th-scale from Hot Toys! From the live-action feature film G.I. Joe Retaliation, I'm still not convinced about the headsculpt-likeness to actor Dwayne Johnson, with this looking a bit "vacuous" (to put it "exceedingly mildly") … or perhaps we/I are/am too used to the crocked eye-brow stance of "The Rock" … nevertheless, the military gear is top-notch, but then again Hot Toys had always been fantastic with their military accessories, IMHO.
