TOYSREVIL-Reviews: "Special Brews Royal Tea" by Lunartik

Had a surprise package come my way out of the blue, a sealed pack of Lunartik's Special Brew greeted me as I promptly opened the pack and recorded it on Vine (thanks to Paulus & Joshua for the suggestions).

The piece came in a complete figure (but you could take it apart in the middle, although I would have no idea why anyone would want to in the first place), showcasing a splendid finishing on this diminutive Mini Cuppa Tea form, with the gold-trim spotlessly clean, as well as the blue-accented prints on the tea cup. Very well worth the £15.00 each, I would insist! Even my dad saw it and told me how immaculate and well done it was too!


Limited to only 200 pieces, mine was hand-numbered 151, with the cup signed by Matt Jones himself (as all 200 cups are), so this is a pretty special brew indeed!

Released during ToyConUK, The Royal Tea is currently available to purchase here (which requires you to have a separate login) … I think, sorry I could not authenticate as I do not have a login! ight well be worth you hunting it down, if you are a fan of Lunartik's, or even not. TOYSREVIL-Reviews: Kruzzilla by Ministry of Kongz

"Kruzzilla" is designed and created by Tanin Tumth of Ministry of Kongz - a Thailand, Bangkok based brand - and is an amalgamated creature inspired by King Kong and Thai Mythical Creatures and the DNA of Japanese Kaiju Monsters.

It is with such a backstory, which reminded me of Kruzzilla being a creature of olden times, a somewhat actual "live" warm-blooded mammal rampaging thru the wild, and even on hallowed temple grounds, in distant times past, now extinct but for the memorabilia made to commemorate it's existence.


The piece reviewed here (and manhandled in the video below) is a 4.5" tall Blank Vinyl Edition, featuring 3 points of articulation at both limbs and waist, which is a fun decision, and provides the figure with a quasi-action aesthetic that makes it an effective visual figure, IMHO.

I enjoyed this figure specifically because of it's clean design form without being too overt in it's influences, IMHO. Although I am not too wholly about the colorway possibilities, on one hand being an explosion of the rainbow setting the tone of "fantasy", which is well suited to the form, versus a more simplistic and less complicated palette .. but perhaps I am overthinking it at this early point in toy-time.


The White DIY Vinyl version is currently available to purchase via mok.storenvy.com, priced at US$26, with an additional US$10 shipping worldwide (Buy 2 get 2$ discount / Buy 5 get 1 free), along with other hand-paints, but at different prices. I think this is an interesting piece to own. One of the main appeals to me as well is that this piece teeters on the edge of kaiju, and yet holds certain retro-toy charm of the Asian persuasion. TOYSREVIL Reviews: Wizard of Oz - Hello Kitty x McDonalds Plush (Week 1)

Having just blogged about the new Hello Kitty x McDonald's plush promotions starting today may 30th in Singapore, I had to satisfy my curiosity and head on to a local McDees store … and as I walked towards the service counter (which was around the corner but not facing me), I could see a Malay lady taking a snap of her son holding up a box to his face, and I was thinking: "Does this plush promo come in a box, like in Hong Kong and Malaysia?" … and true enough, it was! Frankly I was more blown away with the box packaging than the plush itself!




Week 1 of the promotions sees Hello Kitty wearing a "lion"-suit, in the "Wizard of Ox" - in their "FAIRY TALES" series - also stated on the box holding the plush, which was made to look like a thick book! The flip open "cover" was a swell touch, to reveal the window-display, with Kitty peeking from behind! I am SOLD!

The fact that the entire item comes sealed in a plastic bag was a nice touch already, IMHO.

The thing is, you get to pay SGD$4.60 additional for the plush, but only if you purchase an EXTRA VALUE MEAL, not a "Happy Meal" as you might expect! So I forked out an extra SGD$5.00 more for a double cheese burger, fries and a small soda to score this plush.

Would I be able to stomach 5 more meals (costing nearly $50 more) to be able to secure the entire set? Stay tuned to find out! LOL
