The Coming of "The Force Isn't With Me" Print by Luke Chueh x Silent Stage
Posted on 01:23 by omprakash
Coming soon from Silent Stage Gallery is this print titled "The Force Isn't With Me" - which artist Luke Chueh mentioned: "The name of the painting used to be "Clumsy Jedi", but I thing "The Force Isn't…" is a better title."
The depiction of the severed hand/paw is one of the iconic visuals to be remembered from the early movies in Star Wars. No exact drop date nor further product details mentioned. Stay tuned to Luke's Twitter @lukechueh for updates perhaps.

"I Love You Man" Prints in SG
Posted on 00:15 by omprakash
A quartet of prints came in from Bottleneck Gallery, for their Bromance-themed show "I Love You Man" [Previously blogged] with the hot pink in Solo + Wookie x Daft Punk "Star Punks" [rint (by Laurence Altschuler) turning out really spectacular, and as well a swell showing from Andrew Heath's "Daft Bros" two-piece print set - which showed more details than the online images did, and "Shroom Boom" from local artist Clogtwo!
Most definitely happy with this score (and my choices, of course muahahaha). Take your own pick via here

Darth Vader Ukiyo-e by Ario Anindito
Posted on 18:30 by omprakash
While I managed to snag one of Ario Anindito's DARTH VADRESS print at last weekend's Star Wars Day Jakarta, what was missing from the exhibition line-up was this splendid DARTH VADER UKIYO-E image! The original artwork was acrylics on wood.
According to Ario, the Ukiyo-e Vader was only finished in the afternoon on the day of the event, so was not publicly exhibited - BUT he is making it available for sales now, with the A2 sized print priced at US$30 and comes signed with a numbered certificate.
Folks interested are to contact him via his Facebook, or tweet him @gambario for further details. Have I mentioned this was an awesome image? Well, now you know!

"Art Project" Prints at Star Wars Day Jakarta #SWDJKT
Posted on 07:05 by omprakash
Above art by: Rukmunal Hakim
Above-left: Rhoald Marcellius / Above-right: Toolkit04
Bottom-Left: Jessica Kholinne / Bottom-Right: Ario Anindito
Now that you've seen the artwork for the "Art Project" on exhibition at last weekend's Star Wars Day Jakarta, here's a look at some of the giclee prints that were made available for sale (priced at an average of IDR$100,000 / SGD$13 / US$10) and most limited to 30 pieces only. Apparently there were more on Day One, but I missed all of them (*wails*), but snagged the rest on Day 2!
There was also a scheduled signing by some of the artists, but their delayed timing clashed with a pre-planned activity I had, so I went home with no signatures - which is a waste, as it would be so much more enriching if they were signed … nevertheless, no news thus far if any remaining prints would be available for online sales, but will update accordingly…
(Prints on sale, from two sweet ladies with even sweeter smiles!)

ARCH NEMESIS @ Hero Complex Gallery (May 24 Opening)
Posted on 07:00 by omprakash
Launching Friday, May 24 at Hero Complex Gallery in Los Angeles, is "ARCH NEMESIS" - "A show focusing on bad guys...on the villains, rogues, and scoundrels of the world. And what good is a nemesis show without a few heroes to kick around?" (Facebook) - and looking at the previews on Slashfilm (swiped and reposted here), I'm thinking I'm going to be spending some cash when online orders begin Saturday May 25th @ 1:00pm PST (3:00 CST, 4:00 EST). Now enjoy the images!

Luke Chueh Postcards
Posted on 07:05 by omprakash
Check out this splendid set of six postcards from Luke Chueh (purchasable here for US$11.95) featuring 5" X 7" versions of "I Asked For Scrambled", the 3 x "Revenge Of The Dish" (which was derived from bootlegged imagery from Luke's in the first place LOL), and the 2 sushi images that were exclusive prints when Luke was doing his book signing tour for "Bearing The Unbearable". Really nice set and a viable option in lieu of the print, IMHO.

This is one of the few stars in my starting bid to collect depictions from Ridley Scott's "Blade Runner" … *gulp* … not coincidentally, I last purchased Jakob's "LAPD 2019 Blaster Small" from HCG as well :)

Posted on 21:30 by omprakash
Artwork and prints for "Righteous Rides...And the Dudes Who Drive Them!" has since gone "live" for sale via www.herocomplexgallery.com [last featured], and since it is the May 4th/Star Wars Day weekend, here's a look at some Star Wars-related imagery! Starting with a quartet of screen prints from Blunt Graffix, with the BLUE TIE PILOT (above / limited to only 25pcs = mine!) and Red version, and the Falcon (in both blue and red).
From Eric Dyer comes "Vader" - priced at US$40 per (sized 12" x 18") in a Limited Edition of 11 … Am thoroughly surprised there was not more images in this selection … no Speeder-bikes? No X-Wing Fighters? No At-Ats? … but then again, it is about "Righteous Rides" … and "Dudes", innit? Heh.

Star Wars Inspired Mythology Figures by JoE
Posted on 11:00 by omprakash
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... Sci-Fi and Chinese Folklore clash, with the result being these Star Wars/Chinese Mythology-inspired 16" x 12" prints, currently now available for pre-order via emailing monstergallery@singapore.com, or via his Etsy shop - purchase as a set of three, or individually.
Illustrated by Joseph Chiang (aka JoE), who mentioned: "I am inspired by the traditional illustration of Chinese mythology figures." Yoda and the Trooper are keepers, methinks! And that chinese text on the right of image (in black) "Xing1 Qiu2 Dah1 Zan4" = literally is the Mandarin version for "Star Wars"!
